Text Lamb Privacy Policy
Effective date: October 17, 2026
Text Lamb ("we" or "us") is an AI text-message assistant for older adults. This policy explains what we collect, how we use it, who we share it with, how long we keep it, and the choices you have. It covers Text Lamb, Text Lamb Family Alerts, and our website, textlamb.com. Questions: hello@textlamb.com.
In this policy, "the senior" means the person Text Lamb is for: the person who texts Lamb. "Family" means anyone the senior chooses to include.
The short version
- We collect what you send Lamb so it can help you, and as little else as we can.
- We don't sell your information, we don't use it for ads, and we don't send marketing texts.
- AI from OpenAI reads your messages and photos to write Lamb's replies. TypeSafe checks messages to route them and review replies for safety and quality.
- The senior decides who hears from Lamb. Family can't read the senior's one-on-one chat with Lamb. We don't track location, and we don't read anyone's other messages.
- Family alerts go only to people the senior chose who replied YES themselves, and never name a medicine.
- We never share your mobile number or text messaging consent with anyone for marketing.
- Text Lamb "delete my data", or email us, and an administrator erases your data within 30 days.
1. What we collect
From the senior
- Your name and mobile number.
- Your messages to Lamb and Lamb's replies, in your one-on-one chat and in family chats Lamb is in.
- Photos, screenshots and documents you send, such as a letter, a bill, a pill bottle or a suspicious text.
- Your daily check-in time and your reminders, including which reminders are for medicines, and whether you confirmed them.
- The family contacts you choose for family alerts (their names and numbers).
- Your consent record: when you agreed to get texts from Text Lamb, and how.
From someone who signs up someone else
- Your name and mobile number, and your consent to get texts from Text Lamb at your number.
- The first name and mobile number of the person you signed up.
- Whether they replied YES, NO or STOP to our one consent ask, and when.
From family alert contacts
- Your name and the mobile number the senior gave us.
- Your consent record: when you replied YES, what you replied, and the ID of that message.
- Whether you replied NO, STOP, START or HELP, and when.
- Delivery status for the alerts we sent you (for example, delivered or failed).
We don't keep the content of messages you send to Text Lamb's Family Alerts number, other than the replies listed above. We keep no message content about you other than the alerts themselves.
From our website
- What you type into the signup form.
- Microsoft Clarity records how visitors use our site, such as clicks and scrolling. Form entries, like names and phone numbers, are masked and not recorded.
- Cloudflare Turnstile checks that the person filling in the signup form isn't a bot, and Cloudflare may set a short-lived security cookie.
- Basic logs, such as IP address, the type of device and web software you use, and pages visited, used for security and fixing problems.
Our website doesn't use advertising cookies.
Payments (later)
Billing isn't live yet. When paid plans start, Stripe will handle payments. We'll get your plan, payment status, and the last four digits and type of your card. We never see your full card number.
Logs
Basic service logs, such as message counts, delivery status and errors, used for limits, abuse prevention and fixing bugs.
2. Sensitive information
People send Lamb things like a pill bottle, a medicine reminder, a Medicare letter or a bank statement. That can include health information (such as which medicines you take) and financial information (such as amounts, account details or benefits). We use it only to help you: to answer your question, run the reminders you ask for, and keep your chat working. We never use it for ads, and we never sell it.
Please don't send full Social Security numbers, full bank or card numbers, PINs or passwords. Lamb doesn't need them. If a photo shows one, you can cover it before you send.
Text Lamb isn't a health care provider, and we don't get information from your doctor, pharmacy or insurer.
3. How we use it
- To understand your messages and photos and reply to you.
- To run the daily check-ins, reminders and family alerts you ask for.
- To ask the senior for their own YES when someone else signs them up, and to record consent and opt-outs.
- To keep Text Lamb safe: preventing spam, abuse and fraud, and protecting people.
- To fix problems and improve quality. We may review conversations to find and fix mistakes and make Lamb's replies better. Access is limited to the few people who run Text Lamb. If you'd rather we didn't review your conversations for improvement, email hello@textlamb.com. We may still look at a conversation if we need to for safety, abuse or a problem you report.
- To run billing, once paid plans start.
- To answer your emails and follow the law.
We don't use your information for advertising, we don't sell it, and we don't send marketing texts.
4. Who we share it with
Service providers
We share information only with the service providers that run Text Lamb for us, and only what they need. They may use it only to provide their service to us. We use our vendors' no-training and reduced-retention options where they are available.
| Provider | What they do for us |
|---|---|
| OpenAI | AI models (GPT) that read messages and photos to write Lamb's replies |
| TypeSafe | Checks messages to route them and review replies for safety and quality |
| Linq | Delivering the senior's one-on-one and family chats over iMessage (or RCS or SMS when iMessage isn't available) |
| Twilio | Sending Text Lamb Family Alerts by text message (SMS), and handling replies like YES, STOP and HELP |
| Vercel | Hosting, file storage and database |
| Cloudflare | DNS, email routing, and the Turnstile bot check on our signup form |
| Resend | Sending email from hello@textlamb.com |
| Microsoft Clarity | Website analytics, with form entries masked |
| Stripe | Payments, only once paid plans start |
None of this sharing includes text messaging opt-in data and consent. Only our messaging providers (Twilio and Linq) get your mobile number, and only to deliver the messages you agreed to (see Section 5).
Family, only when the senior chooses
- Family alerts go only to contacts the senior chose who replied YES themselves. An alert says only that the senior hasn't answered a check-in or confirmed a reminder, or, when the senior asks, that a message they got looked like a scam. An alert never names a medicine.
- Family chats: everyone in a group text sees every message in it, including Lamb's replies and photos.
- When someone signs up a loved one, Lamb may let that person know, in their own Text Lamb chat, if their loved one would rather not use Text Lamb. We don't share the loved one's messages, number or consent record.
- Family members can't read the senior's one-on-one chat with Lamb.
Other times
We share information if the law requires it (for example, a valid court order), to protect someone from serious harm, or to protect our rights and stop abuse. If Text Lamb is sold or merged, information may move to the new owner, who must keep this policy's promises.
5. Text messaging and your mobile number
We do not share, sell, rent or provide your mobile phone number or SMS/text messaging opt-in data and consent to third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes.
Text messaging originator opt-in data and consent will not be shared with any third parties, excluding aggregators and providers of the text message services (Twilio and Linq), only to deliver your messages.
- We use your mobile number only to send the messages you agreed to and to answer you.
- We never buy, rent or share phone numbers.
- Message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply.
- Reply STOP to opt out at any time, or HELP for help.
- See our SMS Terms (textlamb.com/sms-terms) and how family alerts opt-in works (textlamb.com/sms-opt-in).
6. How long we keep it
We keep your information while you use Text Lamb, and delete it when it's no longer needed.
| What | How long |
|---|---|
| Messages, photos, reminders, check-in settings and family contacts | While you use Text Lamb, until you delete them |
| After you close your account, or don't use Text Lamb for 12 months | Deleted within 30 days |
| After you text "delete my data" or email us | Erased by an administrator within 30 days (see below) |
| Family alert contact records (name, number, consent, opt-out and delivery status) | While the senior keeps that contact, then deleted within 30 days, except the do-not-contact record below |
| Do-not-contact record | Kept so we keep honoring STOP (a scrambled version of the number, what was asked and when) |
| Server and delivery logs | Up to 30 days |
| Records flagged for abuse or safety | Up to 2 years, only as needed to stop abuse |
| Billing records | As long as tax law requires |
We may keep something longer only if the law requires it or to resolve a dispute. Our AI and messaging providers may keep data for a limited time under their own terms (for example, up to 30 days for abuse monitoring).
How "delete my data" works. Text "delete my data" to Lamb, or email hello@textlamb.com. Lamb tells you the request has been passed to an administrator, who erases your data within 30 days. Lamb confirms when it's done. We also ask our messaging providers to delete their stored copies where they let us.
What we keep after deletion: the do-not-contact record (so a STOP stays a STOP), billing records for as long as tax law requires, and records flagged for abuse or safety for up to 2 years. Messages already delivered stay on the phones of the people who got them, including family chats and family alerts.
7. Your choices and rights
- Delete: text Lamb "delete my data", or email us. Family alert contacts and people who signed someone up can email us.
- Get a copy, or correct something: email us, or tell Lamb.
- Stop messages: reply STOP. Family alert contacts can reply STOP to Text Lamb's Family Alerts number at any time.
- Family alerts and check-ins: the senior can ask Lamb to stop check-ins or reminders, or to remove a family contact, at any time.
- Improvement reviews: email us if you'd rather we didn't review your conversations to improve Lamb.
We verify requests by confirming you control the phone number or email address. Depending on where you live (for example, Texas or California), you may have rights to know, access, correct, delete or get a copy of your personal data, and to opt out of its sale or use for targeted ads (we do neither). You won't be treated differently for using these rights. If we turn down your request, you can appeal by emailing hello@textlamb.com with "Privacy Appeal" in the subject. We honor these requests for everyone in the US.
8. Security
Your data is encrypted in transit and at rest by our hosting providers, kept in private storage, and access is limited to the few people who run Text Lamb. Text Lamb is not end-to-end encrypted. Your iMessages travel to our messaging provider, and our servers and AI providers must read your messages to answer them. Family alerts are regular text messages, which aren't end-to-end encrypted. No system is perfect. If a breach affects you, we'll tell you as the law requires.
9. Children
Text Lamb is for adults 18 and older. It isn't directed to children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you think a child has given us information, email hello@textlamb.com and we'll delete it.
10. Changes to this policy
If we change this policy in a material way, we'll tell you by text or email, or on our website, at least 14 days before it takes effect.
